DevelopmentTicket type 2Priority 8Size

Membrane Control browses timeline images from streams held by Membrane Media Library, for use in sending play commands to Membrane Monitor. Although Membrane Control can't play video streams on its own, it might be running on a desktop system with a browser that can.

• Membrane Control includes a function to launch a browser, targeting a URL that references a media library stream at the chosen play position.
• The system's default browser must be capable of playing HLS or DASH content. As of now, that group of browsers includes Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and others.

Membrane Media Library now prepares a DASH representation when creating a stream item from a video file. In addition, it now offers an HTML interface with a DASH player, which can be targeted by Membrane Control when launching a browser to view a specified stream.
