Membrane Server admin password
Status changed to: complete
Membrane Server and Membrane Control now implement functions to configure admin passwords for restricted server access. See "Setting an access password for Membrane Server" in help for interface details. We considered creating a local tool that the server can run to clear its own admin password, but left that work undone for now, and perhaps to be picked up again later.

User-defined stream quality
Status changed to: complete
Membrane Control's create stream action now allows selection of a quality value. For now we only have four presets (Normal, High, Low, Lowest) to cover most common usage, but may later add a set of "advanced options" to allow direct manipulation of transcoding parameters.

Membrane Stream Source application
Developer comment
The "Membrane Monitor stream caching" ticket was completed, granting Membrane Monitor the ability to cache stream data in its local storage. Monitor caching addresses many of the concerns that were to be handled by a proposed Membrane Stream Source application, making the work of this ticket less of a priority.

Membrane Monitor stream caching
Status changed to: complete
Membrane Control's video monitors interface now allows stream items to be transferred into the cache of any individual Membrane Monitor instance. Once in the cache, the monitor can play the video even if the originating Membrane Media Library server is no longer available. Furthermore, Membrane Control now contains an management interface for monitor cache data, with commands to browse the cache, delete cached streams, play cached streams, or play all cached streams on loop.

Scan for media files on demand
Status changed to: complete
Each server shown by Membrane Control's media interface now shows an action menu with a "Scan for media" option, for use in triggering an immediate scan. We investigated a more responsive and automatic scan function involving file and directory event watchers, but decided to go with just the manual scan solution for now.
